The only teaching hospital of its kind in Pakistan was looking to access a whole new range of advanced medical imaging and diagnostic equipment. It selected GE Healthcare to help it achieve this goal.

With its busy quaternary care environment, the Aga Khan University Hospital Pakistan wants to make its diagnostic procedures faster, safer and more efficient. GE Healthcare’s imaging, ultrasound and lifecare solutions will help the hospital’s clinicians deliver faster, more accurate, diagnosis that will ultimately support better patient outcomes.

The strategic partnership, which was announced on the sidelines of Arab Health 2019, is expected to be completed by May, as GE Healthcare and its distributor in Pakistan, Shirazi Trading, have already begun installation.

Established in 1985 and located in Karachi, the facility is a private, not-for-profit, university teaching hospital. It is the only teaching hospital in Pakistan accredited by Joint Commission International, and its clinical laboratories are the only institution in the country to be accredited by the College of American Pathologists.

Technologies being installed at the hospital includes the Discovery NM630, a SPECT (single-photon emission computed tomography) system that delivers superb image quality using scan times and doses as low as half that of standard nuclear medicine protocols.

GE Healthcare also will supply the Revolution™ EVO, an innovative CT designed to support the widest variety of patients and applications, and the Senographe Essential Mammography system, a full-field digital system for high-quality mammograms.

Other equipment includes the Vivid S70N, a portable, robust cardiovascular ultrasound system that provides fast, accurate visualization and quantification; and the Vivid E95, a premium 4D Cardiac Ultrasound System assuring better image quality, faster volume rates with higher processing power, and smaller probes. Also new at the hospital will be the Voluson™ E6, a versatile ultrasound system offering superior imaging with added flexibility.

Learn about these technologies and many more by speaking with GE Healthcare experts and executives at Arab Health, which runs January 28-31 at the Dubai World Trade Center.

GE Healthcare’s pavilion is located in Sheikh Saeed Hall, Booth #S3B10.
