The Great Place to Work® Institute has discovered the answer. Based on confidential feedback from employees across the United Arab Emirates and an audit of management practices, they have pinpointed the 15 ‘Top Companies to Work for in the UAE’ along with valuable insights on what matters most to employees.

After being honored as one of the Top Five ‘Great Places to Work’ for women and Emiratis last year, we’re proud to report that GE has been officially listed as one of the 15 ‘Top Companies to Work for in the UAE’.

So, how does the ranking work? The Great Place to Work Institute conducts an evaluation of each participating company. Two-thirds of the company’s score is based on the results of the Institute’s Trust Index survey, which is sent to the employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management’s credibility, employee engagement and job satisfaction.

The other third of the scoring is based on the company’s responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefits programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring, communication, and development.

A few reasons for the impressive ranking might be the US$1 billion GE invests in employee training and development, or the clearly structured human resources program to identify, develop and retain talent.

Several key programs offered by GE for employees to reach their full potential and evolve personally and professionally include the Edison Engineering Development Program, Financial Management Program, Communications Leadership Development Program, and many more.
