Jordan is known for the quality of its cancer treatment, a competence that will be increasingly in demand as the incidence of cancer is expected to rise in the country. GE Healthcare is helping expand capabilities to meet this challenge.

With cancer already the second leading cause of death in the Kingdom after cardiovascular disease, GE Healthcare recently hosted an oncology imaging workshop for the Kingdom’s healthcare professionals. The one-day program highlighted the latest technologies and techniques in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that are being used in cancer diagnosis.

The event focused on advanced MRI solutions that can contribute to faster, laser-sharp diagnoses. Accurate and timely diagnosis of cancer is crucial to the delivery of high-quality, personalized care.

Some of the advanced technologies discussed at the symposium included GE Healthcare’s AIR Technology™, an industry-leading coil suite designed to truly conform to the human body. It uses flexible coils that are closely wrapped around the patient for incredible image quality. Another example included GE Healthcare’s Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) suite of solutions that provide high signal-to-noise-ratio diffusion images with short acquisition time.

GE Healthcare also highlighted HyperWorks, its new approaches to body imaging, which provides hyper scanning with astonishing imaging and speed, delivering results up to eight times faster.
