Half a Ton: BHGE Beach Cleanup Makes Waves

Baker Hughes, a GE Company, and Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) work together all the time, but recently they walked side by side in the sand of Mangaf Beach south of Kuwait City to collect half a ton of garbage.
As part of the BHGE Volunteer Beach Cleaning Campaign, 85 employees and leaders from both companies, as well as members of their families, spent a recent Saturday focused on picking up trash. The action reflected the level of partnership between the two companies, as well as their shared focus on Health, Safety and Environment (HSE).
Soufiane Kanoun, Geo-market Vice President for BHGE North Gulf, and Dr. Ibrahim El Mahdy, KOC Well Surveillance HSE Advisor were among the leadership to attend.
It is increasingly understood that human trash in the oceans has a negative impact on marine and bird life.
