GE’s Brilliant New Hardware and Software Shines at ADIPEC 2015
At the recent GE Minds + Machines Conference in Dubai, Anup Sharma, Chief Information Officer for GE Oil & Gas, described the tremendous scope for improving efficiencies in the sector, given average reservoir recovery rates in the 35% range and equipment downtime at 5-10%.
He explained that the Industrial Internet, which brings together the physical and digital worlds, offers software applications that can boost productivity and efficiency across the oil and gas sector, from upstream to midstream to downstream.
During this year’s Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, which begins today, GE Oil & Gas is presenting many of these Industrial Internet software applications as part of a full suite of products, services and solutions for the oil and gas industry.
GE Oil & Gas also is sharing its expertise and vision through keynote speeches, technical workshops and Tech Talks at its stand to engage with the 85,000-plus visitors who are expected to attend the event.
Together, with the introduction of new products, GE Oil & Gas stand will demonstrate how its innovative technologies and services portfolio helps its partners operating in the toughest environments to achieve brilliant outcomes through asset optimization, predictive maintenance and real-time intelligence.
The “Technology Showcase” at the GE Oil & Gas stand (in Hall 3) helps customers to visualize GE’s Industrial Internet solutions, which are powered by Predix, the world’s first and only cloud-based operating system built exclusively for industry. These include the Safire Multiphase Flow Meter with Unified Customer Portal for improved field decision-making and performance.
Another example is Pipeline Management, a new GE Oil & Gas Predictivity solution based on Predix, enables oil and gas pipeline operators to increase visibility, safety and efficiency throughout their systems.
GE Oil & Gas also is unveiling several new solutions for the region, including the System 1 Premium Package Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic Software. This solution provides users with a single ecosystem for plant-wide machinery management. It enables online condition monitoring at the facility of customers for equipment whose health is best managed through permanently installed monitoring. It provides scale in database management, diagnostics and work prioritization, adding to the operational efficiency of the assets.
Another product unveiling at ADIPEC 2015 is GE Oil & Gas most efficient gas turbine, the LM6000-PF+. Newly upgraded, this turbine has enhanced efficiency, excellent reliability and fuel flexibility in both power generation and mechanical-drive applications, whether installed onshore or offshore.
Also highlighted at the stand is GE Oil & Gas’ standardization experience, which delivers costing-savings opportunities. Examples include Subsea Trees, Manifolds, and Connection Systems, covering a range of applications across varying pressure, temperature and water-depth requirements.
GE has been supporting its partners in the regional oil and gas sector for more than 80 years. Get a hands-on view of GE Oil & Gas’ latest solutions for its hydrocarbon partners by visiting its ADIPEC stand in Hall 3.
