GE to share efficient energy technology solutions at WETEX 2012
Residents in the UAE can sometimes forget that they are living in a desert. Malls and offices are kept cool with air-conditioning while hotels and housing developments boast lush green gardens, even at the height of summer. Water comes on whenever taps are turned.
But energy comes at a cost, and the UAE is beginning to make real headway in its continuing efforts to address its energy use. These efforts, new initiatives and technology to promote energy efficiency and conservation, water managements and environmental protection will be discussed in the 2012 edition of the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX).
Underscoring its commitment to support the region’s cleaner and more efficient energy drives, GE’s technical experts will share their insights on energy use and demonstrate GE’s cutting edge innovation that is designed to support the UAE and other fast growing countries in the region manage their energy use efficiently and cost effectively.
Under the banner “Powering a Sustainable Future Together,” GE will also showcase technologies that support the event’s theme of “Element to Elemental” including GE Energy’s proprietary fuel, water and solar power technologies such as FlexEfficiency technology, Jenbacher biogas engines, ecomagination-certified ZeeWeed module for water reuse, and GE’s advanced dry low NOx (DLN) technology.
With its global resources and experience, as well as its long and successful regional heritage, GE is well positioned to understand and respond to the cleaner technology and efficiency needs of the Middle East. GE Energy is a regional leader in power generation, with more than 1,000 turbines installed throughout the Middle East. In the last three years, the company has announced over 20 projects, supporting our customers to add over 16,000 megawatts to the region.
Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and hosted by the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), WETEX is running from March 13-15 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Center.
