Building the future of flight in Algeria
Air Algerie is in serious expansion mode. In just the past month, Algeria’s national airline has signed three aircraft deals. These aircraft – covering long-haul, medium-haul and regional flights – reflect the government’s determination to boost tourism, foster economic development and help Air Algerie address growing competition and expand its network in domestic, Africa, Europe, China and the Americas.
GE Aviation has been serving the Air Algerie fleet for more than 25 years and provides nearly 70% of the fleet with advanced GE and joint venture partner engines. In fact, every 25 minutes, a flight equipped with GE technology takes off from the country, powering the flights of Air Algerie, as well as Tassili Airlines.
It was in this context that John Rice, Vice Chairman and President & CEO of GE Global Growth Operations, recently met with Air Algerie CEO Mohamed Salah Boultif to discuss both companies’ shared commitment to strengthening the aviation industry in Algeria together.
