Addressing the Big Growth in Hospital Demand
Across the GCC region, there will be a need for more than 90,000 hospital beds by 2018, while 15 mega-hospital projects are under development or construction in the region. At the same time, healthcare spending is rising more than 10% a year.
That’s partly why GE Healthcare’s pavilion at the ongoing Arab Health exhibition and medical congress is designed to evoke the modern hospital environment and address regional hospital requirements. Visitors can walk through six different hospital “departments” the same way a patient might experience his/her journey through a hospital.
It’s a unique design that puts the advanced hospital solutions products on display at the pavilion in their natural setting in one of six critical hospital departments.
Arab Health is the largest healthcare exhibition and congress in the Middle East and Asia.
Under the theme, ‘Advancing Healthcare, Together,’ GE Healthcare’s pavilion includes segments for cardiology, woman & child care, oncology, radiology, critical care, the operating room and other advanced solutions.
Key products launched at this year’s show include the Revolution CT, a first-of-its-kind computed tomography (CT) system that enables clinicians to non-invasively visualize the human heart more clearly than ever before, and diagnose more patients with erratic or high heartbeats.
The GE Healthcare booth also will feature VolumeRAD, which offers improved detection and management of patients with lung nodules compared to conventional x-ray imaging of the chest.
