GE recently showcased its latest energy efficient technology solutions for the power and water sectors in Jeddah at the Saudi Water & Power Forum (SWPF), as well as at Power-Gen Middle East that just took place in Doha for the first time. At both forums, a number of GE Energy business leaders gave presentations around cleaner, smarter and more efficient technology solutions.

Cleaner, smarter, more efficient energy is needed to sustain the growth of the energy and water sectors in the region. At these forums, GE shed light on a broad range of solutions and services that address achieving sustainable prosperity through knowledge, innovation and cooperation. Included were the latest energy technology solutions and services that address the better utilization of the region’s available resources such as integrated power and water solutions and fuel flexible turbines. GE’s Smart Grid solutions that focus on improving the efficiency and reliability of existing infrastructure to save energy, reduce cost and increase the integration of renewable generation, were also on display.

Addressing the synergies between power and water demands and resources, in Saudi Arabia GE showcased its water and process treatment solutions for the Saudi Arabian power industry. GE’s water, water reuse, wastewater treatment and process solutions allow power plants to operate more efficiently and profitably, while helping to minimize their environmental footprint.

GE has been active in the Middle East since the 1930s and has management and project management offices as well as local repair and service facilities to serve customers throughout the region. GE Energy has installed 1,000 turbines and has over 1,400 employees across the Middle East, while GE’s oil & gas and water & process technologies businesses also play major roles in the development of the region’s infrastructure.
