Cleaner Air for Qatar: RasGas Selects GE Emission Reducing Technology

December 29, 2010 at 05:12am

Demonstrating its commitment to supporting the State of Qatar’s regulatory requirements regarding nitrogen dioxide (NOx) emission levels, RasGas Company Limited (RasGas), one of the world’s largest producers of liquefied natural gas (LNG), is applying GE’s Dry Low NOx (DLN) combustion technology to reduce gas turbine emissions at its LNG complex in Ras Laffan Industrial City.

GE’s advanced DLN combustion technology is designed to help gas turbine operators meet lower emissions requirements without the injection of diluting substances. The retrofitting of the GE gas turbines is being done as part of a long-term maintenance agreement between RasGas and GE. A GE team dedicated to the RasGas site is responsible for performing all maintenance of GE units with the objective of increasing availability and reliability by leveraging GE’s technology and specialized technical support.
