Bad Habits and the Link to Breast Cancer

While it’s generally well understood that smoking leads to lung cancer, most people don’t know that a host of unhealthy lifestyle choices can have a big impact on one’s chance of getting breast cancer.

Today is World Cancer Day and on this day, whose theme this year is “Debunk the Myths”, GE Healthcare has created this infographic that makes clear the many steps we can take as individuals to reduce our chance of getting breast cancer. It also points the way for policymakers looking to address rising breast cancer incidence in entire populations.

Also to mark World Cancer Day, GE Healthcare and UICC (Union for International Cancer Control) are hosting a one-hour Tweetchat from 4-5pm GMT to discuss ways of reducing the stigma and dispelling myths about cancer. Be sure to join the conversation.
