Basra Oil & Gas Exhibition: Sharing integrated and innovative solutions to enhance oil & gas production in Iraq
With the third largest proven oil reserves in the world, Iraq is focused on the effective and efficiency utilization of its energy resources to drive the country’s overall infrastructure development. The first step towards achieving Iraq’s development goals is the urgent need to meet its new oil production target of eight million barrels per day by 2016.
GE’s diversified portfolio of advanced and integrated technology solutions are designed to enable the country’s oil & gas sector reach its production targets while enhancing operational efficiencies and promoting environmental sustainability. At the second Basra Oil & Gas Exhibition, GE will be showcasing the company’s integrated innovative portfolio of solutions tailored for the needs of Ira’qs oil & gas industry. The GE Oil & Gas pavilion is located in D07 of the Basra International Fair Ground where the exhibition will take place from November 25-28.
In addition, GE is hosting and sponsoring a Technology Seminar on ‘Cleaner, Smarter and More Energy Efficient Solutions’ at the exhibition. Through the various presentations, GE will share its technology solutions for Drilling & Production, Enhanced Oil Recovery, and insights on further enabling the development of Iraq’s oil & gas infrastructure.
Having just established three new offices in Baghdad, Erbil and Basra, GE is building on its commitment to Iraq with a heritage of over 40 years, and has been serving Iraq’s oil and gas industry for decades. Over 130 GE turbines have been installed in the country to date to support the electricity needs of the country. GE’s gas turbines have a strong presence on Iraq’s oilfields due to their reliability at high temperatures and ability to use different fuels. The company’s wide portfolio of technology solutions, including motors and compressor stations, are currently deployed to compress flared gases at West Qurna, Zubair and Rumaila oilfields. Responding to the country’s need to increase productioncompany GE will install its ecomagination certified ZeeWeed® technology to produce high-quality treated water at the West Qurna oil field for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) operations.
