GE Healthcare Stand at Arab Health

GE Healthcare had a great experience at Arab Health again this year. The event, which concluded on January 26, claims to have drawn over 3,000 exhibitors from 75 countries and more than 65,000 healthcare professionals from across the world including China, South Korea, France, Turkey, US, UK, and Japan. The Exhibition and Congress was also visited by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Arab Health, the second largest such exhibition in the world, is an important platform for GE Healthcare in the region as it provides the perfect stage for GE to showcase its latest technologies and plans, and network with the best professionals in the industry. GE Healthcare has several decades of presence in the Middle East, and its technologies support an overwhelming majority of hospitals.

GE Healthcare’s innovative technologies that were on display were tailored to address the pressing healthcare challenges in the region – especially the rise in incidence of lifestyle diseases. The exhibition was a great platform for GE Healthcare experts and executives to interact with the attendees, host workshops, demonstrate new technologies and discuss the latest trends in medical imaging and healthcare.

GE Healthcare’s participation at Arab Health 2012 was led by the theme, ‘Technologies for Healthier Lives.’ GE’s accelerated investment in product innovation builds on the company’s efforts to enhance care, comfort and usability for patients and providers, as well as productivity for physicians across a wide range of geographical and clinical settings.

There were many highlights for GE Healthcare at Arab Health that included the display of its latest innovations across three anchors – Imaging Solutions, Clinical Information Systems and eHealth. This display included the first-ever showcase in the Middle East of GE’s Omnyx Digital Pathology solution.

GE Healthcare also showcased its latest advances in ultrasound technology, computed tomography (CT) systems, MR Radiation Oncology options and molecular imaging tools.

As governments in the Middle East region seek to enhance their healthcare infrastructure, GE Healthcare continues to meet customer needs through innovative technologies that promote patient care, comfort and productivity. With that in context, GE is showcased a comprehensive portfolio of ‘diagnosis to care’ solutions at the Exhibition.

More than 50% of all infants, both pre-term and full-term, are at risk of hyperbilirubinemia, a condition caused when there is too much bilirubin in the blood. To address this condition, GE Healthcare has introduced a LED phototherapy product to their Lullaby portfolio, further addressing the needs of infants around the world. The Lullaby LED phototherapy system was also a key display GE’s stand at Arab Health 2012.

Last but not the least, GE Healthcare has announced the signing of an agreement with Gardens Hospital in Jordan to supply advanced diagnostic and healthcare equipment.
